General

It is strongly recommended to rest between 15:00h and 17:00h. All the local people do and everybody appreciates silence in that period (even covered by law).

The Greek afternoon runs from 17:30-20:00 and is primarily used for drinking coffee and making plans for the evening. Greeks usually eat after 21:00h.

In Acharavi however they are used to tourists and you can have your evening meal from 18:00h onwards.

Shopping: Acharavi has many supermarkets.

Acharavi has several doctors. Corfu Town has a hospital.

Eating out

Acharavi: "Maistro", the best food in town.

Acharavi: "La Fattoria", decent Italian.

Almiros: beach just east of Acharavi, tavern "Thalassa", great food for in the afternoon.

Kato Korakiana: "Etrusco", Italian style, voted one of the best restaurants in Greece and still not overly expensive.

Nimfes: the souvlaki bar on the village square, great if you can find it.

Later in the evening: music bar "Freddo" or the "Veggera" bar on the beach. "Vento" at the roundabout is usually also lively.

Swimming

Almiros: 1.5 km east of Acharavi, direction Kassiopi, turn left at sign for taverna "Thalassa" . The best beach and remarkably uncrowded.

Acharavi: the beach in front of the "Acharavi Beach Hotel", turn-off from the main road towards the east just before the Salvanos Super Market.

Sidari: Canal d'Amore, fun if only just once.
