Location
The old original house, aged more than 150 years and the
modern new one, built in 1995, are located in Strogili,
a neigbourhood of the village Agios Panteleimon belonging
to the municipality of Thinalion, with Acharavi as the most
touristically developed area.
Fully inhabited up to the beginning of 1950's, every single
house was strictly connected with its owner and of course
there was no need for street names or numbers. Although
in the mean time, especially from the 90's onwards, the
region has been transformed rapidly to a modern tourist
resorts (Acharavi), Strogili itself remains intact.
Eventual restorations made by nostalgic returned migrants
or their children, or even by Europeans who recently discovered
the place, did not change the atmosphere. No signs or street
names have been introduced.
You have to find the house by knowing the local name of
its owner!. To facilitate your way a painted sign on the
wall reads: Charilaos' house.
Both houses are built amphitheatrically on the side of
the outer slopes of the Pantokratoras mountain each one
on its own terrace.
